The swim and dive teams continue to be one of our most popular summer programs!  The coaching staff is comprised of highly skilled and trained aquatics professionals who combine hard work, fun, and sportsmanship to create a team environment that nurtures our swimmers and keeps them coming back year after year.  Georgetown competes in the WISC (Washtenaw Interclub Swim Conference) group that focuses on teaching kids about competitive swimming while preserving the fun that goes along with this great sport.

Teams practice five days a week and workout groups are established by age and ability.  Placement in our swimming groups is determined by the swimmer's skill in the four competitive strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly.  Each group emphasizes a different level of skill development.  A good measure of your child's readiness for the team is if he/she can swim one length of the pool unassisted.  Beginning divers will learn the basic hurdle and approach as well as a variety of dives, and experienced divers will be encouraged to reach their full potential.

Who? Up to 30 kids entering the 1st through the 6th grades. While the camp is set up for younger campers, students entering the 7th and 8th grades are also welcome. Each day, the kids will be divided to form three groups of campers close to their age. Members will have exclusive access to sign up through April 30.  If there is space available on May 1, we will offer the camp to a limited number of non-members who will pay $100 more per week. Camp director Kevin Taylor, who played soccer at Michigan in the early 2000's and is Pioneer's soccer coach, will lead the program that will have a 10 to 1 ratio between campers and staffers.

What? A multi-sport, multi-activity camp that takes advantage of a fantastic facility. Swimming, diving, gutter ball, sharks and minnows, golf, FootGolf, tennis, paddleball, soccer, gaga ball, tetherball, sand volleyball, nukem, capture the flag, arts and crafts, movie time and more will be incorporated into each week.

Where? GTCC 1365 King George Boulevard, Ann Arbor, MI 48108

When? 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, during the weeks of June 19, June 26, July 10, July 17, July 24 and July 31. Early dropoff and late pickup windows will be available from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

How Much? For members, $175 per week, per child. That provides 50 hours of supervised, active care for $3.50 per hour!  Early dropoff (8 a.m. to 9 a.m.) and late pickup (5 to 6 p.m.) options are available. If space is available in any or all of the six weeks on May 1, the non-member rate is $275 per week.

Why? We know some kids go to day camps for many weeks in the summer. We also know many members pay sitters and nannies for care during at least some weeks in the summer. We want to give our members a fun, cost-effective option for care at possibly the best day camp in town!

NOTE: Space is limited to 30 kids per week.  Please pay when registering online to guarantee your spot!

This is a terrific choice as a companion group for the top level junior classes.  This will not be a technique class, but an intro to match play and focus on strategy, scoring, and point construction.  Kids must be able to serve, return, and sustain short rallies.  The Development Group is great for players who want to play against other developing juniors, and offers the option to move up groups if the player rapidly improves.

The Development Group will practice on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:30 - 3:00 PM starting the week of June 20 and continuing through the week of August 22.
